藝術家自述

埃里克．普瓦特凡（Éric Poitevin），1961 年出生於隆吉永（Longuyon）。1985年，在梅斯取得了造型藝術國家高級文憑。1989 年，他獲得了由羅馬法蘭西學院及義大利合作機構成員組成的評審團所頒發的梅迪奇（Villa Médicis）駐村獎助，在羅馬駐留一年。

他曾在斯特拉斯堡高等裝飾藝術學院（École supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg）和南錫國立高等藝術與設計學院（École nationale supérieure d’art et de design de Nancy）任教，自 2008 年起擔任巴黎國家美術學院（Beaux-Arts de Paris）教授，並繼續從事攝影師的工作。

自1991年起，埃里克．普瓦特凡在法國、比利時、希臘、維也納、瑞士、美國等不同國家之美術館、畫廊展出攝影作品，包含：巴黎龐畢度中心、凡爾賽宮、梅茲龐畢度中心、里昂當代美術館、比利時攝影博物館、日內瓦現當代美術館…等。

ARTISTS STATEMENT
Born in Longuyon, France in 1961, Éric Poitevin gained his degree in Plastic Arts from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Metz in 1985. Selected by the jury made up of the members of the French Academy in Rome and its collaborative Italian institutes in 1989, he received a grant for one-year residency at Villa Médicis in Rome.

Poitevin previously taught at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Nancy. Starting from 2008, he is a professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, while continuing his creative career in photography.

Since 1991, Poitevin's photographic works have been exhibited at art museums and galleries in France, Belgium, Greece, Vienna, Switzerland, the United States, etc., including Centre Pompidou Paris, Palace of Versailles, Centre Pompidou-Metz, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, Musée de la Photographie de Charleroi in Belgium, Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Geneva. He has also published dozens of catalogues.
