時間之屋

午後的散步，經過被植物包覆外牆的一戶人家，門不再是門，而是一個缺口。好奇著，裡面住著怎樣的人，從裡頭往外看，又是怎樣的風景。
腦海裡浮現了一個人，他活著，活在被植物包圍的時間之屋。在這裡，外在的一切被切割開來，不再與他相關，白晝與黑夜是顛倒的。
他告訴自己：「你正在進行某種修煉。」
他以自己的身體作為孵化之所，孵化出一個全新的生命，並為他取名，小心翼翼地撫育。 帶他走過自己曾經去過的地方，帶他認識花草樹木，帶他去上學，問他今天過得如何。每個夜晚，講故事給他聽，陪他一起進入夢鄉。
他將自己與他重疊，就這樣生活了好長一段時間。直到他不再與他分享一切，走了另外一條路。
他仍然散步去公園，那些舊式的鐵皮溜滑梯都不在了，換成了新世代的安全遊具。他經過植物組成的綠圍籬，回到家，在乾淨整齊的餐桌前，為自己沖了杯咖啡。牆上殘留標示著身高的模糊印記，還有幾張裱了框的舊照片。
他知道這個屋子裡存在的幽靈是什麼。沒有人看得見，除了他。
他看了看時鐘。下午四點，不需要再出門了。
The House of Time
Artist’s Preface／HSIEH Yi-Ting
During an afternoon walk, a house came into view, its outer walls enveloped in plants. The door was no longer a door, but an opening. One could not help wondering what kind of person lived inside, and what the world might look like from within.
A figure emerged in the mind. He was alive, living in a house of time surrounded by plants. Here, everything outside was cut away and no longer concerned him. Day and night were reversed.
He told himself, “You are undergoing a kind of discipline.”
He made his own body a place of incubation, bringing an entirely new life into being. He gave him a name and cared for him with the utmost tenderness.
He took him to places he himself had once visited, introduced him to flowers, plants, and trees, took him to school, and asked how his day had been. Each night, he told him stories and accompanied him into sleep.
He folded his life into his, and they lived this way for a very long time. Until he no longer shared everything with him and went down another path.
He continued to take walks in the park. The old metal slides were gone, replaced by the safer playground structures of a new generation. He passed a green hedge formed by plants and returned home, where he made himself a cup of coffee at the clean and orderly dining table. Faint traces of height markings remained on the wall, alongside several framed old photographs.
He knew what the ghost inhabiting this house was. No one could see it but him.
He looked at the clock. Four in the afternoon. There was no need to go out again.
