藝術家自述

我的作品以混合各種圖像的主題為基礎（包括照片和想像），這源自於我個人的興趣。這些圖像只是我繪畫的動機，並非為了臨摹主題。對我來說，「繪畫」並不是指畫什麼東西，而是在享受塗抹顏料的同時，觀察顏料的表現力。比如顏料慢慢滲入亞麻布，又或者薄薄的顏料層變成人體皮膚的紋理。因此，我的作品都是經過很長一段時間的創作，甚至避免一蹴而就。

ARTISTS STATEMENT
The motifs of my paintings were created based on the mixed images of my personal imagination and curiosity. I see such motif as a more motivation for painting, not the subject to be depicted in a painting. To me, "painting" does not mean to paint something but it means to enjoy overall action per se: colors sink into the canvas, the very moment of the layered colors turn into the texture of human skin, or the whole process of painting again and again with making it sure what appearance it has. As such, it takes a very long time before finishing my painting as if I intentionally avoid to have it finished.

私の作品は、私的な興味をもとに写真や想像など様々なイメージをミックスしたものをモチーフにしています。それらのモチーフは私が絵を描くための動機づけに過ぎず、その対象を写し取ることを目的としていません。私にとってのペインティングは、何を描くかよりもじわりと麻布に染み渡る絵具だったり、薄く重ねた絵具が、人の肌の質感に化ける時だったりと、絵具の表情を確かめながら筆を重ねる、その行為自体を噛み締め楽しむことかもしれません。そのため、私の作品は完成することをさけるように、長い時間をかけて制作されます。
