藝術家自述
蔡宜儒，國立嘉義大學視覺藝術研究所畢業，專職畫家。創作上以東方水墨意趣融合西方造型思考，透過走筆、渲染、肌理堆疊，藉重解構、嫁接表現次文化與流行娛樂形象等符號的交替運用，同時整合了抽象與具象之間的微妙特質，展現出亦古亦今與幽默童趣的視覺面貌，成為藝術家獨樹一幟的風格。

ARTISTS STATEMENT
Artist Yi-Ju Tsai, lives and works in Taipei, graduated from the Graduate School of Visual Arts, Chiayi University, is now a professional artist. The artist deconstructs and mixes the subculture symbols, popular images, and graphicons (graphical icons) from his childhood cartoons to nowadays icons, to depict an absurd yet humorous stage show with these characters. Through the brush strokes, rendering, texture layers, the artist integrates the Chinese ink painting skill with the Western painting medium and form which makes his art work unique and fresh in his age.
